Abstract
This study uses the annual precipitation data provided by 88
weather stations in Brazil's Northeast. The yearly rainfall variations of each
station were compared to the average climatic data of a 82-year period. For the
period 1911 to 1992 the relationship between variations of yearly rainfall and
the El Niño phenomenon was analyzed
